What do specialty coffees, professional musicianship, freelance photography and starting a design company have in common? Not much — unless you’re new Trilix team member Cooper Floyd, whose varied experience includes all those creative environments. Cooper joins Trilix as an interactive designer, focusing on designing and building the front-end portion of websites and creating email templates for clients. Cooper found the perfect mix for his eclectic interests at Trilix.
“An agency job like this is a great fit for me personally because being in an environment of creative people and getting to practice skills that I enjoy gives me energy and makes me happy.”
More about Cooper:
What do you like to do in your free time?
I like to spend time with my fiancée, Sarah, as well as with my friends! I enjoy watching movies and TV, playing music, working on design projects, spending time at local coffee shops and occasionally playing video games.
Do you have any unique hobbies or talents?
I am a multi-instrumentalist and have been playing music since I was nine years old. Playing music runs in my family, so it felt very natural to pick it up. I used to play music professionally and spent a lot of time building up these skills.
What is your favorite restaurant in Des Moines?
Being from the South, I grew up on comfort food, and the restaurant in Des Moines that I think does it best is Bubba. I also love a great burger, and my favorite in the area is one that I get at Exile Brewing Company!
If you didn’t work in this industry, what career path would you choose?
Something that has always fascinated me is architecture. I don’t know anything about it, but if I wasn’t on the path that I am, I would love to learn about drafting/architectural design.
“I enjoy things like coding and design a lot, but the thing that I enjoy the most is creating something that people love to look at and interact with.”
What’s one totally irrational fear that you have?
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I have some extended family who live in London. I’ve never been, but I would like to meet them and tour the city as well.
If Trilix gave out awards, you would be voted “Most Likely To…”
Because I’m a massive introvert: Most likely to not talk to anyone for an entire week.
What’s one song you have completely memorized?
The first one that popped into my head was “State I’m In” by Needtobreathe.
You can eat one meal for the rest of your life. What is it?
A medium-rare filet mignon, mashed potatoes and grilled brussels sprouts with parmesan cheese.
Anything else you’d like to tell us?
I’m happy to be here and look forward to getting to know everyone at Trilix!
We look forward to sharing Cooper’s web development and design skills with our clients!
