At Trilix, we’re fortunate to have long-standing relationships with clients who place their trust in our team to share their brand stories. But it’s not every day we get to combine efforts through a unique collaboration with two clients from different industries.

In 2023, Make-A-Wish® Iowa and Stine® Seed Company announced a partnership through a program called Harvesting Wishes. Harvesting Wishes connects the agriculture community with critically ill children waiting for their wishes to be granted, whether through in-kind, monetary or supply request donations.

Cultivating a connection

“When the team at Make-A-Wish Iowa shared their idea for Harvesting Wishes, they knew Stine was the perfect partner to help them expand the program throughout Iowa and beyond, and we couldn’t have agreed with them more,” said Brett Adams, Trilix president and CMO. “Stine has operations throughout the United States. Each year, hundreds of thousands of farmers put their trust in the Stine brand. With their reach and respect in the industry, they are well positioned to help elevate the Harvesting Wishes Program.”

While Harvesting Wishes is a Make-A-Wish Iowa program, Stine serves as the premier sponsor. The partnership is critical in helping the program reach new audiences, specifically the agriculture industry and farmers who will have unique opportunities to participate in the program.

Collaborating to inspire hope

Fortunately, because Make-A-Wish Iowa and Stine are Trilix clients, we were able to play a part in launching the program. From logo design and messaging to website development, video and media relations, we worked with Stine and Make-A-Wish Iowa to develop a platform for the program and a channel to promote it to the right audiences.

Our knowledge in the nonprofit and agricultural industries and relationships with Stine and Make-A-Wish Iowa provided us a good foundation for what was needed to successfully launch the program.

“Our knowledge in the nonprofit and agricultural industries and relationships with Stine and Make-A-Wish Iowa provided us a good foundation for what was needed to successfully launch the program,” said Melissa McCarroll, Trilix account manager. “Now, we look forward to watching the partnership between these two clients grow to cultivate support for children experiencing critical illnesses in our communities across Iowa and nationwide.”

As the program is now in full swing, Trilix will continue to support Stine and Make-A-Wish Iowa with promoting Harvesting Wishes and providing additional marketing support when needed.

Harvesting Wishes from coast to coast

While Stine and Make-A-Wish Iowa are Iowa-based organizations, anyone can participate in the Harvesting Wishes Program, no matter their location.

“There are thousands of Wishes in Waiting across the U.S., so it’s Make-A-Wish Iowa’s and Stine’s goal to grow this program to have a national footprint,” said Brett. “Their intent is to work with farmers across the country to connect them with their local Make-A-Wish chapter so any donations made go directly to the donor’s community.”

Make-A-Wish Iowa has established different ways for the ag industry to participate:

  • Through donations of monetary funds or supplies;
  • Volunteering;
  • Gifts of Grain donations.

Through Gifts of Grain, farmers work with their local elevator to make a crop donation at harvest, which may allow them to take advantage of tax-deduction opportunities.

Stine is also offering a unique opportunity for their grower customers to participate: a seed incentive program. Customers who participate will receive a seed purchase incentive from Stine upon donating to the Harvesting Wishes Program.

We can’t thank Make-A-Wish Iowa and Stine enough for allowing us to be a part of this inspirational new program to cultivate hope and resiliency for children experiencing critical illness. To learn more about Harvesting Wishes, visit HarvestingWishes.org.
